Hidalgo de Parral, Mexico

I took a day off in Hildago de Parral (click here for more info)…a town quite impressed with itself because of former famous resident Francisco Alvarado (who was so rich from his silver mine that he at one time offered to pay off the Mexican national debt!) and José Doroteo Arango Arámbula (5 June 1878 – 20 July 1923), better known as Pancho Villa.

Where Pancho Villa was ambushed and murdered, now just a dangerous place to cross the street.
