I suddenly got inspired this afternoon and submitted a piece of flash fiction to a writing contest. I did it as an exercise to get the creative juices flowing. To work my craft from a different angle rather than just the magazine format I’ve gotten so used to, or the book I am (hardly) writing.

I can tell you this: it felt wonderful to flow words in a different way.

I’ve been working on some creative projects as I stall in my writing; I think it all comes from the same source, it’s just a different stream, so I figure I’ll keep flowing if I keep creating in different ways. Who knows…I just might find another passion!
