New Year, New Resolve: Ride, Write, Repeat

I’ve been catching up on my email this morning and reading friend’s blog posts and email updates reviewing their 2012 year, how they are changing and growing, how they are inspiring others (and me in particular) with their energy and enthusiasm. At first I didn’t know what to think, but then as I read more and more reflections on 2012, I realized the good service a review provides: it helps us see how far we’ve come, whether we’re on track or off track, and it also serves as a reminder for all the things we should be grateful for.

I have a new, and very dear friend here in Idaho Falls that reminded me of a great gift I have in my life right now: TIME. It’s something everyone else wants, has little of, and something that I should judiciously. She encouraged me to write.

I’ve been yakking about writing a book for a couple of years now, and lately I’ve come to see how I’ve been doing a lot more yakking than writing. So. I’m going to cast the fears aside, I am going to bare my soul, and I am going to write. I might plan a few trips along the way, and I might lead a motorcycle tour here and there, but it’s finally time to put the rubber to the road and write.

After all, it’s the only way to get where you want to go: cast your fears aside, collect your courage, and point your handlebars in the direction of your dreams.

Feel free to leave a comment on the blog letting me know what YOUR dreams are for 2013. I’m also looking for an accountability partner if you want to send me an email about that.

Wishing you the best of everything in the coming year and thanks for following!
